My son (an only child) loves this toy. He has been playing with it daily. We just picked up Leobreaker who can become Optimus Prime's arm in savage claw mode. This toy is hours of fun for a fan of Transformers.
coolest Optimus yet

This toy is awsome.I judge toys on the pose abilty. This toy has got great pose abilty. I love optimus primes back pack. it makes him look so strong als the 3 transformation abilty is cool to im not for lights and sounds. If your a collector of transformers or like to play with them this is your toy.The only down side is that the matrix of leadership optimus cant hold it.If your gonna start collecting transformers cybertron toys than start with this one

Pros: good color scheme; good articulation; heavy weaponry; fresh design; five transportation modes
Pros or Cons: simple transformation; super robot mode still is not as tall as Megatron
Cons: difficult to stand up with guns folded behind back |
I love savage claw mode!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think this Prime is the best yet. I have Leobreaker and I can combine them for Savage Claw mode. I am waiting for the price to go down a bit. I think $40 is a bit much. I recommend this toy all the way.

This Optimus lives up to the hype swirling around the Cybertron line for the last three months before the toys even reached the shelves. A huge figure a foot tall in Super mode and much wider than that at the extended wingspan. Stands very well despite his size, with spring loaded rear wheels that shift under the weight so he doesn't roll right off your shelf. The instructions show him with the cannons positioned over his shoulders, but the cartoon show has them under his arms and the wings spread over his shoulders. This is easily achieved by rotating the entire wing assembly on either side, although it does make Optimus look like he's shooting from the hip since he can't actually grip the cannons. Actually much more simple to transform than he looks. The giant wings and cannons are all one removeable backpack piece which clips securely over his shoulders and under his arms. Very nice amount of articulation to him. Poseable fingers curl around his gun's handgrip, which also pegs into his palm so it won't fall out. Protective faceplate flips up over his mouth by concealed lever in the back of the head (nice touch). Chest opens to reveal a removable Leadership Matrix like the 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime. It's about the size of a marble, so it could be a choking hazard for younger children. Truck mode looks like something straight out of "Mad Max"! My only real gripe is you can still see the top of his head in truck mode since nothing covers it when it's slid inside the body. Like his counterpart Megatron figure, an awesome Optimus Prime for a new generation.
