Once again I am very impressed with this line! This Bumblebee is the one I wished for as a child. It looks just like the cartoon and is great is robot mode. The transform feature is great, not too complex but still fun. This is a great toy!

Great toy for older kids but not for younger ones, especially ones with no patience.

Reviewer: deadskie,
I can very much understand why those with children would have complaints about such a toy, on account that it is tricky to transform. That, and it is a bit sensitive if you aren't cautious with it--various parts will pop off, I mean, like an arm or a leg (although I've never had trouble with reattaching said parts on mine). I think the main problem comes with the ball-and-socket joint, which leads to excellent mobility--but also the potential to disconnect.

At any rate, I didn't purchase mine to play with, and so I'm perfectly content with such a figure as-is.

That said, Bumblebee very much looks like the character--both in robot and vehicle mode. And, he comes with a lot of the same features as the cartoon:

You can attach his boosters, no problem. His eyes, stingers, and boosters "glow" when you stand him in front of a light. He has a small compartment tunk space in vehicle mode that you could probably fit 2-3 nickels in. In robot mode, you can bring his stingers together and lock them for his stinger attack. And, you can interchange his hands and stingers, simply by flipping one or the other out. (Note: the stingers don't fully retreat within the confines of his arms.) His arms and legs are fully moveable, and he's very easily free-standing. His head can tilt and twist in just about any direction--although mine does have a penchant to occasionally twist right off.

And so I'd say he's probably more of a figure for a collector, and not-so-much a to-be-played-with toy--just because he can be a bit delicate. But if you like Transformers Animated, and get a kick out of the character, I'd say it's most certainly worth it.

In my opinion it's the best "TF: Animated" Bee figure out there so far. I don't have too many complaints, though it does have some minor issues. He's fairly poseable, it could be better, but I've seen TF toys with MUCH less.

Parents ... don't get me wrong, I'm giving it a great review, and it really is a cool toy. For $10 it can't be beat! I'm just an adult fan basing it on my experience with Transformers toys, not toys in general.

It has pretty good attention to detail for a toy in this price range.

My only real complaint it that his "rocket thrusters" don't actually fit into the holes drilled into the toy for them. I think that's going to be a big disappointment for fans of all ages. You can't use them. Forcing them would break his "wings". I looked over the instructions over and over and over ... thinking I MUST be missing something. I had more than one person check it out, the rockets :::don't::: fit. I'll probably file them down so they fit. It doesn't seem like a one-time factory error. I'm not really a collector, more of a big kid. Resell isn't important.

The AutoBot logo is painted silver, and though I'm more of a fan of "BumbleBee" more so than I am into this particular incarnation of the show, I really thought the logo should have been red. It's even red on the packaging.

I dont' really care much for his alt mode. The windshield has two pegs that later hold them in place somewhere else, and the car just looks like a "pixar car" because it looks like it has eyes. That's just a personal peeve of mine though. Not sure if it's really worth mentioning, or if a child would even care. It might even be a plus for kids for are "Car" fans.

One of the best features is his eyes. His head is made of molded light blue plastic, and it's painted yellow. With an unpainted spot at the back of his head. That way when you stand him in front of the TV, a monitor, or in any general light really, his eyes glow blue. It's really neat!

All-in-all for $10 this toy is a ton of fun and really cute!

I loved transformers as a kid and this was for my son. First this is difficult to transform which is okay, but the thing falls apart at every turn and not just when my son was doing it but when I was carefully following the directions and working on it for 1/2 hour. By the end of the week it was broken into pieces. It wasn't built to last.
