MP-08 Masterpiece Grimlock is a plastic/die-cast figure accompanied by a handful of accessories including Grimlockâ?TMs Energo Sword, the intelligence-transfer device from the episode â??Grimlockâ?TMs New Brainâ? and Grimlockâ?TMs beverage tray from the episode â??Madmanâ?TMs Paradiseâ?. Grimlockâ?TMs right fist features an LED function. In keeping with the Gen 1 source material, MP-08 Grimlock is based upon the nostalgic tripod-stance concept of the tyrannosaurs; his robot mode offers a wider range of articulation than the Gen 1 version, and is reminiscent of his appearance in the original cartoon. Grimlockâ?TMs acrid disdain for weakness is rivaled only by his hostility towards those who use superior strength to victimize weaker life forms. As a result he s never had much respect for OPTIMUS PRIMEÃ’ . He barely even considers himself and his DINOBOTSÃ’ to part of the AUTOBOTÃ’ army most of the time. He only grudgingly helps the heroic AUTOBOTSÃ’ because the tyranny of MEGATRONÃ’ offends him even more than weakness. He longs for the day when OPTIMUS PRIME makes a final mistake leaving a vacancy that GRIMLOCK will be more than happy to fill.
